According to the Best of San Diego readers' poll in the Union Tribune, the top San Diego wedding locations include the Hotel del Coronado by Coronado Beach and Balboa Park (coming in numbers one and three respectively.)

The readers' poll shows that San Diego is becoming a destination for outdoor weddings.  Think of how nice it would be the feel the warm wind in your hair or your bare feet in the beach sand.

Even better yet, think of what it would be like to escape the winter in the north east to have your wedding on the beaches of San Diego.  It's not snowing yet, but it won't be long.

San Diego Wedding Bells provides simple, casual, beautiful and stress free weddings or commitment ceremonies at both Coronado Beach and Balboa Park or any romantic location in San Diego County.

On average, U.S. couples will spend : $26,800 for their wedding, according to research at The Wedding Report.  More than half of that cost will be for the reception which includes the venue, catering, decorations and on and on.

To put on this huge event, most planners recommend at least a year of planning for all the details involved: reception sites, ceremony, parties, rehearsal dinner, bridal showers, décor and flowers, apparel and accessories, invitations, gifts and shopping.

Wouldn't it be nice to just keep things simple, stress free, and intimate?

A San Diego beach wedding can be all of these things.

Think of how relaxed you'll be wiggling your toes in the sand as you exchange your I do's.  The sun sets over the Pacific Ocean in a blaze of brilliant colors.  The ocean breeze caresses you as you hug for the first time as a newly married couple.

And now you don't even have to worry about catching a plane to go on your honeymoon.  You're already at the beach!

San Diego is the perfect destination for your beach wedding.  Let the day be about enjoying yourself instead of pleasing your guests.

In the last season of Friends, Mike and Phoebe's wedding plans were derailed by a huge snow storm in New York City.  Catering, flowers and the band couldn't get through.  By using their imaginations, the Friends created a meaningful ceremony in the street outside Central Perk, the gang's coffee shop hangout.

If Friends had been set in San Diego instead of New York, Mike and Phoebe could have held their wedding on any of our stunning beaches.  They could have chosen Coronado Beach, Mission Beach, even Black's Beach, (although you might want to advise your guests about the clothing option on Black's Beach.)  And there's no snow in San Diego!

Flowers bloom all year in the many parks in San Diego.  The Alcazar Gardens in Balboa Park are another great location for wedding ceremonies.  Mike and Phoebe don't know what they were missing.

We can help you choose your perfect wedding location.  Contact us for suggestions.  We know many beautiful locations in and around San Diego.

The other day we took our greyhound, Millie to Coronado Dog Beach.  On the way in, she kept to the scant ground covering to protect her feet against the hot sand.  Once we got to the surf, she was fine.  She scampered around in the water.

When we headed back, I picked up my sandals and walked bare foot with Millie.  It was my turn to find out how hot the sand was away from the water.  I skipped and jumped until I joined Millie in the ground covering.

A beach is a fun, casual place to have your wedding ceremony but you can't walk gracefully on a beach in heels.  You'll struggle through the sand and probably end up ruining your shoes.

Sandals or flip flops work best, especially during the day when the sand can be hot.  When you get near the water, you can kick them off and get married in your bare feet.

If you think bare feet is a little au natural, you can dress up your feet with ankle bracelets or any other foot jewelry.

The nice thing about a beach wedding in San Diego is that you can wear whatever you want on your feet.  The important thing is to have fun, be relaxed and enjoy your day.
